The Bee Learning Series

Comprised of three synchronous two-hour sessions, and six asynchronous hours to design a tangible work product you can implement in your classroom this fall. Session topics include:

  • How cultural and community values shape how giftedness presents in underrepresented students
  • How to adapt culturally affirming curricular strategies in the gifted classroom
  • How to build relationships with families and leverage building champions to increase representation in your GT program

 WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Classroom teachers at all levels, regardless of GT certification/endorsement status
  • School Counselors
    Gifted Program Coordinators
  • Homeschool Parents

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Sessions will be held July 18 – Aug 1 via Zoom on three consecutive Tuesdays, from 12PM – 2PM CST.
  • Participants will be expected to spend approximately two additional hours on reading/assignments each week.

HOW TO LEVERAGE DATA TO BUILD AN EQUITABLE PROGRAM
Learn how to examine both your qualitative and quantitative data to shape an equitable identification and assessment process, and then to provide a culturally affirming GT experience for all students.

COLLABORATING WITH PARENTS WHO MAY INHERENTLY DISTRUST THE INSTITUTION LEARN
How to build relationships with marginalized families to better meet the needs of your GT students from underserved backgrounds.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • District Leaders such as Superintendents, Chief Academic Officers, Chief Equity Officers, etc.
  • School Principals
  • District-level Gifted Coordinators

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • How to leverage qualitative and quantitative data to design an equitable GT program
  • How to analyze your data to identify who’s missing from your existing gifted program and shape an inclusive assessment process
  • How to build relationships with marginalized communities to better support your GT students of color
